Join us for our annual service project abroad to a developing country. Our destination this year is the historic province of Aurora, Philippines, in the main island of Luzon.
Implementing the project of Reledev Australia (https://reledev.org.au), Creston College has run over 20 projects in many rural villages and urban sites in the Philippines.
Philippines Service Project 2023
Location: San Luis, Aurora
Conditions: Rural and urbanised poverty
Aurora is a province in the Philippines located in the eastern part of Central Luzon Region, facing the Philippine Sea. Its capital is Baler. Aurora is fast becoming known for its natural wonders, beautiful beaches, and surf-worthy waves, as well as its place in Philippine history and world cinema.
While there has been a vast improvement in poverty incidence in the last decade. Aurora still has the highest share in terms of annual per capita poverty threshold in Central Luzon at 16% which is more than twice high compared to the Regional poverty incidence of 6.9% in 2018. The most common cause of morbidity are still preventable diseases such as upper respiratory infection, malnutrition, skin problems, pneumonia, hypertension and diarrhea.

Classes for 4 days:
- First aid part 1
- First aid part 2
- Prevention & protection from Parasites
- Dental Health & Nutrition
Other projects:
Workshops for mothers on what their children learnt
Beach clean up
Sports clinic

26 August – 05 September 2023 – to and from Sydney.
COST
$1250 Includes flights, full R&B and all transport. PLUS $250 fundraising target for project materials.
